I had to take Nolan shopping because he had outgrown his swimsuit. We were walking past the ladies department and he said “Mom, why don’t they have the kind of clothes that you wear?”

I asked what he meant.

He said “You know, baggy t-shirts and ripped jean shorts.”

How does one respond to that? I was speechless, at least until I fell over laughing. It was either that or cry.

I love getting fashion and style advice. From an ELEVEN YEAR OLD BOY. Yeah, they are FULL of fashion sense.

Nolan recently discovered the fine art of sucking up. He tries to constantly compliment me. The other day Tanner was teasing me and said I must be having a blonde moment.  Nolan helpfully pointed out that I am not blonde.

He was doing pretty good up to that point. But he followed up with “She’s not having a blonde moment, she’s having a gray moment.”

I said he discovered sucking up, not that he was good at it. He really needs to work on his technique.

Just wait until he is 13! Since my son was little I have kept a small journal of what I call “Taylorisms” which are those hilarious little things they say. I love looking back on it from time to time.

Oh – and you and I must shop at the same store for many of our things :-)

I know, I hate to think of what is coming, lol. Keeping a journal is a great idea, I always think I’ll remember but I know I won’t.
