So I am writing this post because we have been notified by a resident on Oak Ln that her neighbor is neglecting his dog. This case is a little different than most because the dog is in fine shape physically but he constantly escapes the back yard and roams free. This is a dangerous situation because the dog could be hit by car, bitten by another animal, or harm other civilians. I was forced to go the residence in question and advise the dog owner that it was his responsibility to get a bigger fence for the well being of his dog and others that could be affected by it. He told me that he had contact General Steel and they were prefabricating a fence as we spoke. I had no reason not to believe him and I think that there should be no more problems once the fence comes in.
When I was done talking to the dog owner I called the neighbor who complained and explained the situation to her. She was not satisfied at all at my actions and told me that he has been telling her the General Steel story for the past few weeks. She does not believe that he brought the fence and he is just killing time. I advised her that since it was the first time he told me about the fence I am forced to believe him. I will check back with the dog owner within the next couple of weeks to check to see if he has the fence.
