Before we begin with SOOC Saturday, I have just two words to describe why I’ve been missing from this blog all week ~ stomach flu.  Enough said.  Now for the picture.

This guy was in our yard this morning.  I’ve seen him before so I think he has a hidey hole somewhere in the yard.  I’ve just never caught him standing still long enough to snap a picture before.

He’s off to get some breakfast.  I just wanted to show you this one so you can see the mudhole that is my yard, after more than two weeks of solid rain.  Or as the newspaper said,  Violent Storms.  Who made Mother Nature angry??

These pictures were taken today, but this scene is played out over and over every day, with both of my sons and their dog.

Aren’t they both so pretty handsome?

Going in for the smooch.

 Happy dog!

It’s hard to get a good picture of Coach because he is wagging his tail so fast and hard that his whole backside is wiggling.

By now Coach is worn out from all the lovin.  He’ll drift off for his mid morning nap, which comes after his morning nap and before his afternoon nap.  He’s a busy guy with all the napping.

My wonderful grandma sent me this soft, uber fluffy robe for my birthday.  I don’t normally wear robes so I put it in my dresser.  My son was helping me go through my clothes to take things to Goodwill, and he found it.  He loved it, obviously.

I can’t show you the other pictures of him vamping with the robe, because I’m sure he doesn’t want them to end up on Facebook someday.  Let’s just say, he’s got some diva in him.  And maybe some Solid Gold Dancer, too.

When my son turned 13, he all of a sudden decided he didn’t want his picture taken anymore.  At first I thought he just didn’t want his picture on this blog, but I’ve learned that he doesn’t want anyone to take a picture of him, period.  Well, that’s just not acceptable.  I want some photographic memories of these teenage years!

My youngest son likes to get his picture taken, and take pictures himself.  I hope he doesn’t grow out of this phase anytime soon.

Last weekend Tanner, the anti-photograph teenager, wanted to mess around with my camera and take some pictures.  I said sure, but only if I could get some pictures of him, too.  He didn’t actually agree to that.  Here is what he came up with for me:

Seriously.  Should I frame this, or have copies made to send in Christmas cards?  He thinks he’s sooo funny.

This was another attempt to humor me:

You may think that you see all kinds of streaks and dirt on that window  he’s looking through, but that’s just an optical illusion.  Photoshop magic.  I promise.

And what would a picture taking session be without this guy.  He’s always a happy and willing subject.  If only my kids were this cooperative.

I had a lot of work to get done today, to get ready to go out of town for Thanksgiving.  So I handed my youngest son my camera and told him to get busy.  He loves taking pictures, so he was a happy camper.  I was hoping for one really good shot.  He surprised me, all of them were good.

This is one of my neighbors dogs, wanting to get out and play.

This is our dog.  He’s clearly wondering why his boy is taking pictures instead of playing with him.

This is our dryer, or rather the part the wasn’t working.  I’m happy to report that my husband got it fixed.  He’s my hero.

As I post this I realize that several of the pictures my son took are missing.  The self portraits are all gone.  That little stinker deleted them! I should never have showed him that button.

This is from the hike we went on last weekend.  My son had been snapping pictures and handed the camera to me on the way to the car.  I took this one last picture, and it’s actually my favorite picture from that day.

I found this on our walk this past weekend.  It’s a pretty good reflection of how much I enjoyed that walk, and just being with my family.

It’s a lovely fall day here.  We all had to get up early, my oldest had a band tryout – he got selected for All-Region Band! And my youngest had a scout activity.  With such nice weather, it’s almost ok to get up early on a Saturday.  Almost is the key word there.

Enjoy your weekend.
